Bitcoin scammers lured out 850,000 rubles from a Russian by phone

A 22-year-old resident of Vyksa became a victim of telephone scammers who offered him to make money on investments in cryptocurrency. This is reported by the local Ministry of Internal Affairs.

About a month ago, an unknown person called the Russian and introduced himself as an employee of a financial company that provides services for exchanging rubles for bitcoins.

The victim was sent a link to the site where the exchange allegedly took place. Within a month, the victim transferred a total of 850,000 rubles to the accounts of the “company”.

When the Russian decided to withdraw the amount, he was asked to pay the deposit. After that, the attackers stopped communicating.

The police opened a criminal investigation into the fraud. The suspects face up to 6 years in prison.

Earlier, ForkLog reported that scammers lured away from a Russian almost 400,000 rubles for “bitcoin trading”.
