Topps to Release Major League Baseball NFT Series

Collectibles maker Topps will release the first official Major League Baseball (MLB) card series as non-fungible tokens (NFT).

On April 20, NFT cards will appear on the WAX ​​blockchain. According to a press release, the MLB series will include standard and premium packs with cards of varying degrees of rarity, from common to legendary.

For collectors, there is a limited edition legendary cards of players and iconic moments in a single copy.

“Topps cards offer modern collectors and fans an innovative way to interact with their favorite stars,” said Evan Kaplan, Managing Director of MLB Players.

In January, Topps Digital introduced 18 NFT cards featuring Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders in mittens. His photograph became a meme after Joe Biden’s inauguration as president of the United States.
