Russian lost half a million rubles on the purchase of video cards for mining

A 29-year-old resident of Saratov became a victim of scammers who posted an advertisement for the sale of video cards for mining cryptocurrencies. This was reported by the local prosecutor’s office.

In search of components for the mining farm, the victim contacted the “online store manager”. He told him the bank account number for paying for the goods.

The Saratov citizen transferred almost 570,000 rubles to the “seller”, but he never received a video card.

The police opened a criminal investigation into the fraud.

Earlier, ForkLog reported that against the backdrop of a shortage of ASIC miners on the network, a fraudulent scheme has spread, targeting customers of Bitmain devices for mining bitcoin.
