The nonprofit Solana Foundation has announced the launch of the Solana Season virtual hackathon featuring Web3, DeFi and NFT themed tracks. This was reported to ForkLog by the press service of the Solana Foundation.
Solana Season starts on May 15 and runs over three weeks. The hackathon offers a global prize pool of $ 400,000. Teams will also be able to receive seed funding, which will increase the amount to $ 1 million.
Each track provides three prizes with awards of $ 20,000, $ 10,000 and $ 5,000 in USDC-SPL, respectively.
Additional prize funds are provided in regional tracks:
- Eastern Europe (and CIS countries) – $ 155,000;
- China – $ 125,000;
- India – $ 50,000;
- Brazil – $ 25,000
Individual projects will be able to compete for additional prizes with the support of the hackathon partners, as well as for the Grand Champion prize – $ 50,000 in USDC-SPL.
“We want to participate in the development of projects covering different countries, because we believe that they will be invaluable in unlocking the potential of the blockchain,” said Anatoly Yakovenko, President of the Solana Foundation.
According to him, the goal of the foundation is to provide additional assistance needed by projects to support and develop the Solana community.
The hackathon will be supported by ForkLog, Hacken Foundation, Gate.io, Serum, HAPI, Velas, Akash Network, MultiCoin Capital, Bitfury Crystal, FTX, OKEX, Raydium, AAVE, DSRV, Nonce, 1inch Network, 3Commas, Waves, Zerion, Solstarter , MXC and others.
