Bit Digital, listed on the Nasdaq, announced that Barry Silbert’s subsidiary of Digital Currency Group has joined the Foundry USA mining pool.
According to the press release, Bit Digital is now mining Bitcoin from Foundry USA with approximately 5,679 mining rigs that generate a hash rate of around 0.28 EH / s.
Foundry Digital announced the opening of the pool for institutionalists in March 2021. His first client was Blockcap, with a fleet of approximately 10,000 miners.
“With the addition of Bit Digital, Foundry USA is one step closer to its ultimate goal of being consistently ranked among the top five Bitcoin mining pools in the world,” it said in a statement.
According to BTC.com, Foundry USA is ranked 10th in terms of total computing power with a 3.4% hash share. The fifth position is occupied by BTC.com itself – 8%.
Bitfarms joined Foundry USA in April. Other participants in the pool include BitDeer and Hut 8.
As of March 31st, Bit Digital owned a total of 40,965 mining devices with a combined hash rate of around 2.26 EH / s.
Recall that the company that switched to the mining industry in 2020 mined 1,510.2 BTC based on its results. New business revenue exceeded $ 21 million.
